Miami-Dade Approves $3.9 Million GTA 6 Marketing Deal for Vice City Campaign
Miami-Dade County has approved a $3.9 million marketing agreement with Rockstar Games to promote Grand Theft Auto VI ahead of its November 19, 2026, release. The deal will bring Vice City-themed displays, lighting, and advertisements to several real-world locations across the Miami area.
The agreement is another major step in Rockstar’s campaign to connect GTA 6 with the city that inspired much of its fictional setting. From the airport to public transportation, parts of Miami-Dade will get a visual makeover inspired by the upcoming game.
What Does the $3.9 Million GTA 6 Deal Include?
The approved agreement covers several advertising locations across Miami-Dade County. Instead of completely rebranding major public facilities, the final plan focuses on themed displays and promotional installations.
Here are the main features included in the deal:
Rockstar will cover the costs of installing, maintaining, and removing the approved promotional displays. The county must also approve the final designs before the installations proceed.

Why Did Miami-Dade Officials Oppose the Deal?
The agreement did not receive an easy approval. Earlier proposals reportedly went much further, with Rockstar exploring plans to transform parts of Miami International Airport and PortMiami with extensive Vice City branding.
Several county officials raised concerns about using public facilities to advertise a video game. The proposal faced opposition from commissioners and the county sheriff, putting the partnership at risk.
The final agreement is more limited than the original vision. Rather than turning the airport into a full-scale Vice City attraction, the approved plan focuses on lighting, signs, and advertising placements.
Despite the earlier disagreements, the county ultimately moved forward with the partnership.

How Will the Deal Benefit Miami-Dade County?
The marketing agreement is also intended to generate revenue for the local community.
Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said the county could use the global interest in GTA 6 to create additional revenue. She has also highlighted the funding connected to the Kaseya Center’s rooftop display.
According to the county’s announcement, the full $975,000 from that display agreement has been allocated to the development of Dan Paul Plaza, a long-promised public park behind the Kaseya Center.
The site has remained largely undeveloped for decades despite earlier plans to create a public space with walking paths, shade trees, and other amenities. The GTA 6 advertising agreement could therefore help move that project forward.

Rockstar GTA 6 Marketing Is Spreading Across Miami
The Miami-Dade agreement is part of a wider real-world campaign surrounding GTA 6. Several locations and promotional activities have already been connected to Rockstar’s plans for bringing Vice City into the real world.
| Marketing Location | What’s Planned or Reported |
|---|---|
| Miami-Dade County | $3.9 million marketing agreement |
| Kaseya Center | Welcome to Vice City rooftop display |
| Miami Beach | Branded beach equipment and promotional banners |
| Wynwood Walls | GTA 6-related murals and free admission |
| Downtown Miami | Temporary promotional banners |
| Miami streets | Reported appearances of modified vehicles inspired by the game |
| Street advertising | GTA-style promotional ads spotted around the city |
| Live-action trailer | Rumors of filming in Miami remain unconfirmed |
The activities listed above have different levels of confirmation, so the reported live-action trailer should not be treated as an official Rockstar announcement.
Still, the county agreement adds another significant piece to a campaign that already extends beyond traditional game trailers and online advertising.
