GTA 6 May be Locked at 30 FPS on PS5 & Xbox

Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to feature a detailed open world with advanced physics, realistic weather, and busy streets. However, these features could come at the cost of a higher frame rate.

According to the report, Rockstar North Rob Nelson indicated that GTA VI is targeting 30 FPS on all current-generation consoles, including the PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. The focus appears to be on delivering detailed graphics and a complex game world rather than prioritizing a higher frame rate.

Even with its more powerful hardware, the PS5 Pro may not deliver 60 FPS in GTA VI. The report suggests that the game targets native 1440p resolution on the standard PS5, upscaled to 4K, while maintaining 30 FPS.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
