GTA 6 Could Save

Millionaire YouTuber Says GTA 6 Could Save You $5,000 in Money

Buying a new video game usually means spending money, but according to millionaire YouTuber Mark Tilbury, GTA 6 could actually help you save thousands of dollars.

In a recent video, Tilbury explained how spending time playing Rockstar’s upcoming open-world game could save players around $5,000 by keeping them entertained at home instead of going out.

His calculation is pretty simple. If you spend four hours every night playing GTA 6 instead of going out with friends, the money you would normally spend on those evenings could stay in your pocket.

Of course, the idea is more of a fun financial calculation than serious money-saving advice. But with GTA 6 releasing on November 19, it’s an interesting way to look at the cost of one of the most anticipated games of the year.

How Mark Tilbury Calculates $5,000 in Savings

Tilbury’s calculation starts with the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition, which costs $99.99.

He estimates that completing the main story could take around 80 hours. If you play for four hours every evening, that’s approximately 20 nights of entertainment.

However, GTA 6 isn’t just about completing the main story. Players will also have side missions, exploration, and plenty of other activities to keep them busy.

Tilbury estimates that players could spend around 200 hours in the game. At four hours per night, that would give them approximately 50 evenings of entertainment.

Now comes the interesting part.

If you normally spend around $100 every time you go out for an evening, staying home for those 50 nights could mean keeping $5,000 in your bank account.

According to Tilbury’s calculation, that’s a pretty good return for a game that costs around $100.

The Real Cost of Playing GTA 6

While Tilbury’s calculation sounds impressive, there’s one important detail worth remembering: buying GTA 6 is only part of the total cost.

If you already own a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, getting the game is relatively straightforward. However, players who still need a console will have a much bigger expense.

Here’s a look at some of the costs associated with GTA 6:

ItemPrice
GTA 6 Standard Edition$79.99
GTA 6 Ultimate Edition$99.99
New console, if neededApproximately $500–$1,000
Limited GTA 6 DualSense controllerAround $84.99
Official Rockstar merchandiseSold separately
Physical double-sided poster$0.99 or free with a purchase
Printable Leonida mapFree

Rockstar has also introduced official GTA 6 merchandise, including clothing and other collectibles. Players who want to collect everything could end up spending considerably more than the price of the game itself.

So while GTA 6 might offer hundreds of hours of entertainment, the total cost depends on what you already own and how much extra merchandise you decide to buy.

Could GTA 6 Actually Save You Money?

Tilbury’s calculation works if you assume that every evening spent playing GTA 6 replaces a night out that would have cost you $100. But that’s a pretty big assumption.

Not everyone spends that much money on a night out, and some players might not have gone out in the first place. The game also has its own costs, including the console, electricity, and any additional purchases. Still, there’s a reasonable point behind his calculation.

A game that provides hundreds of hours of entertainment can be a relatively inexpensive way to spend your free time. Compared to regularly paying for restaurants, movies, and other activities, gaming at home can offer good value for money.

GTA 6 Could Be Worth More Than Just Entertainment

With GTA 6 launching on November 19, players are already making plans for how they’ll spend their first few days in Vice City.

Some might take time off work, while others will spend their evenings exploring Leonida, completing missions, and discovering everything Rockstar has built into the game.

For content creators, the release could also bring opportunities to make money through gameplay videos, livestreams, and other GTA 6-related content.

So, while Tilbury’s $5,000 calculation shouldn’t be taken as a guaranteed saving, it does highlight something interesting about gaming.

If GTA 6 keeps you entertained for hundreds of hours, the money you spend on the game might feel a lot more reasonable. And after years of waiting, that could be enough of a reason for many players to consider it money well spent.
